Fairfax Conservatory of Music is always looking for professional musicians who are deeply experienced, are exceptional performers, and inspire students to continue their musical journey through encouragement and various teaching styles.

Instructors needed for a private, rapidly growing music school in Fairfax City, Virginia. Position starts part-time, then transitions to full-time. Specifically needed on weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends. Most teaching hours are concentrated after school hours through the evening. We will compile a Wait-List, to start with you, contingent on successful trial lessons with those students. This position offers easy potential to become full-time and contribute artistic/educational ideas to enhance the development of the school.

Piano and String instructors are required to have a Master's Degree.

Vocal, Guitar, and Audio Engineers should have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent certification within their field. Exceptional cases that demonstrate a professional level of piano playing and ability to adapt teaching style based on the individual student will be considered.

 

We are looking for someone who is intuitive, capable of empathizing with each student and understanding their personality/intellect to best guide them towards their fullest potential. Must have experience working with children and have an outgoing personality; Your personality will be the most important factor in successfully attaining this position. You should also be able to demonstrate a high level of playing and an ability to impart knowledge of how musical expression informs technique. Our students range in age from 5-80, from beginners to advanced players. Since we've been in business since 2009, we are looking for instructors that will be with us a long time and can develop long-lasting relationships with the students and integrate into the community. 

 

Job Types: Part/Full-time, Contract

Pay: $50.00 - $92.00 per hour

  • How many hours would you be willing to work? We require a minimum of 15 hours weekly, once established with our students and the community.
